NintendoDS This page has investigated the model number of the NINTENDO DS(DS) hardware which Nintendo released. and, the model number is NTR-??? by consecutive numbers.
NTR is "NiTRo". "Nitro" is the code name of the NINTENDO DS. Incidentally, DS of NINTENDO DS has the two meaning of "Dual Screen" and "Developers' System".
Please refer to these official pages about each peripherals. because, this page wrote based on the information in Japanese shop and on network. but I think that "probably, there is no difference, except a power supply (AC Adapter)".

NTR-001 NINTENDO DS It is the hardware which has equipped standardly the interface for which using freely in other hardwares was difficult. For example, a very intuitive input is possible at a touch-screen. and, Various voice recognition is possible at a microphone.
It can communicate by wireless. It is connectable with a maximum of 16 persons (16 DS) in this wireless network. IEEE802.11 and the original communication protocol are used and electric wave attainment distance is about 10 ~ 30m. and, The communication software "Pictochat" is embedded. Moreover, Wireless Game Sharing is also possible.
The GameBoyAdvance's software(AGB-002 etc.) can be played. but, Multi-play mode is not supported. because, a link cable(AGB-005 etc.) cannot be used.

  • The position of START button, SELECT button: DS is the upper part of A*B*X*Y button. DSL is the lower left-side of A*B*X*Y button.
